I’m Lisa a Fine Artist, Educator and Holistic Creative. When I was just a tiny tot I was told I was born with a crayon in my hand. Creating art from the very beginning. From years of Art Classes, to Camp Counselor-Art Instructor, earning a BFA in Fine Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art, a Masters in Art Education from Notre Dame of MD University and most recently earned Certification in Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy from Mind Body Education. I am a Visual Arts Educator with many years of experience teaching Visual Arts to all ages and all walks of life. I have a creative spark with a story to tell. A love for encouraging & inspiring others to bring their story to life.
 

If I were to put it simply, God gave me this beautiful gift: a gift to create, inspire, heal and be a positive light to as many people as I possibly can. Art is the avenue I was blessed with, a purpose bigger than myself. From a very young age I was able to use my artistic talents and abilities to express, and speak in a way where words just weren't enough. I overcame trauma, struggle and many of life's hardships from struggle to strength, joy and an unshakeable faith that radiates from within. From paint stamped fingerprints to glitter sprinkled hair, modeling clay marked on my cheeks, to those little magical moments I got here. Somewhere along the way, I discovered how art became my sanctuary and voice. It was through the strokes of a brush, the molding of clay and the vibrant hues, and imagery with a story to tell. Art has this amazing ability to create connection and a sense of

belonging to ourselves and the world around us. 

 

So here I am a woman with east coast roots to a midwest soul. My wonderful husband Jim & I moved to Ohio in 2016. We love our cozy home and the sound of tippytaps and tailwags. Yes, dog hair gets pretty much everywhere. My husband is a homegrown Buckeye who is dedicated to his fall football Saturdays, faith and family. I am so incredibly lucky to have him by my side from storing art supplies to helping me set up for a painting social or supporting me and my students work at an art show, to hearing every little detail about my ideas. I am a bit of a firecracker who loves life, people, adventure, sunset views over the water, getting creative, dancing in the living room for no reason, diving into a good book, memorable girls nights and everything in between.

All these things create such a beautiful life, and all of this is a part of my story.
